What is recorded

The company that invited you decides what monitoring is switched on. Everything that applies to your assessment is listed on the instructions screen before you start, and in the privacy notice on the same screen. Nothing is hidden from you.

Depending on those settings, an assessment may record:

• Leaving the assessment tab — a timestamp each time the tab loses focus
• Leaving fullscreen — if fullscreen was required
• Copy and paste — blocked inside the assessment, if the company enabled it
• More than one screen — whether a second display is connected
• Screenshots — periodic captures of your screen
• Approximate location — only if you grant the browser permission, which you can refuse

Your answers, your code, and how long you took are always recorded. That is the assessment itself.

What this does and does not mean

These are notes for a human to read, not accusations. A tab switch is a tab switch — nothing decides anything about you automatically, and no score is changed by it.

If something innocent happens — a notification steals focus, your laptop is docked to a second monitor, a screen reader takes over — that is normal and common. If you are worried it looked bad, say so to the company; a short explanation from you is worth more than the log entry.

If you are uncomfortable

You can refuse the location permission and still sit the assessment.

If the monitoring itself is a problem for you — because of your circumstances, your equipment, or a disability — contact the company that invited you before you start. They control these settings and can change them. We cannot change them for you.
