Your data
Who holds it
The company that invited you is the controller of your data — they decide what is collected and what happens to it. Test Utopia runs the platform on their behalf.
That is why almost every question about your assessment goes to them rather than to us.
What is kept, and for how long
Your answers, your code, your result, and any monitoring records from the assessment.
The company sets a retention period, after which your personal details are automatically removed — their name, your email, your contact details, and any monitoring records. The default is 180 days after the assessment ends. The anonymous result stays with them for their own reporting, but it is no longer linked to you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask the company for a copy of everything they hold about you, and you can ask them to erase it. Both requests are built into the platform, so they can act on them directly.
Send those requests to the company that invited you, not to us — we cannot act on your data without their instruction, and they may hold records about you that never came from an assessment.
Location and screenshots
If an assessment asks for your location, your browser will prompt you and you can say no.
Screenshots, if enabled, are listed on the instructions screen before you start. They are stored with your attempt and expire with it.
Full detail on how the platform handles data is in our privacy policy.
